photo 1Melissa is a licensed Acupuncturist in Wisconsin and certified by the National Certification Committee of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). Melissa started her education in Chinese Medicine in Portland, Oregon at Oregon College of Oriental Medicine.  With a strong family background and a pull to be back in the Midwest, Melissa moved back to be near her family and transferred to Minnesota. Melissa received her Masters of Oriental Medicine degree from Northwestern Health Sciences University in 2011. During her clinical education she interned at Aliveness Project, which is a community center for people living with HIV/AIDs in the Twin Cities area and at The Salvation Army Harbor Light Natural Care Center, providing care to the homeless and low-income adults in downtown Minneapolis; and The Pillsbury House Integrated Health Clinic, a clinic offering free services to the community.

Melissa’s interest in acupuncture grew in 2003 when she suffered a whiplash injury. Acupuncture, along with massage and chiropractic aided Melissa in her healing process. Because of the powerful effects acupuncture and Chinese Medicine had on her health she decided to pursue her own career in Eastern medicine. She receives regular acupuncture treatments, chiropractic, and massage as part of continued self-care.

With gentle techniques and compassionate intention, Melissa’s goal is to aid clients in connecting with themselves and assist in their journey to healing, wherever the client may be on that path.  Traditional Chinese Medicine access for the whole family, from pediatric to elders, is a personal goal of Melissa’s. Melissa believes everyone should be able to enjoy the benefits of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, regardless of age or economic status.

Melissa enjoys spending her time with her partner, Jason, son and  daughter, and two dogs, hiking the Baraboo bluffs, swimming in all the near by water in the summer, playing in the snow in the winter and enjoying the amenities of nearby Madison, Wisconsin.
