Massage Therapy
Massage therapy is an
ancient practice in which the muscles and other soft tissues of the body are manipulated
by kneading and applying pressure to the body to help provide relaxation. My
massage sessions are tailored to each individual so every session is different
and focuses on what the client needs most that day. I offer both relaxation and
therapeutic massage and specialize in the modalities listed below.

Craniosacral
Therapy Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle, hands-on approach to bodywork.
It focuses on the bones of the head, spinal column, sacrum and the underlying
structures. The main objective is to find restrictions or compression in these
areas and use specific techniques to release these areas. The craniosacral
system produces a rhythm similar to that of the cardiac and circulatory systems.
This rhythm is thought to be the most ancient system in the body and is referred
to as cranial rhythm. By listening to the cranial rhythm, the therapist
can determine where lack of movement exists. These areas of non-movement are known
as compression or restrictions in the system and can cause dysfunction and disease
in the body if not corrected. Each persons cranial rhythm is unique
and can differ from day to day, hour to hour depending on the emotional and physical
condition of the individual. Variations to movement patterns often occur, especially
in cases of injury or trauma. Once areas of restriction have been determined,
the therapist uses gentle, non-invasive techniques to release those areas and
restore balance to the system.
